  • We regret to inform the academic community that the article titled “Assessment of Natural Radioactivity and Radiation Hazard in Soil and Rock Samples from Mining Sites within North-Eastern Nigeria” by Michael C Ohakwere-Eze, Musa Nafiu, Shiv K Singh, Momoh Kabiru and John Simon, published in Physics Access, volume 4 issue 2 on the 18th of October, 2024, has been formally retracted. This decision was made following a thorough review, which identified ethical concerns and authorship disputes. Scientific integrity and academic honesty are fundamental to the advancement of knowledge. Retractions serve to correct the scholarly record and uphold these principles. We acknowledge the contributions of the authors and the editorial team, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause to researchers who have referenced or relied on this work. The retracted paper will remain accessible in the journal’s archive, clearly marked as retracted, to ensure transparency and to prevent further citation of potentially unreliable findings. We appreciate the vigilance of the academic community in maintaining rigorous standards and encourage continued discussion on best practices in research.
